Bill Rader started his journey at a very young age, building his first standard rite of passage business, and grew it to the largest eleven-year-old owned and operated a business in the community while obtaining his first education in business. These early trials propelled him to his first licensed business at age 16.

Referred to as his first real business, as it had paid employees, licenses, insurance, and government run-ins Bill grew this company and sold it while in his senior year of high school. He also learned his first and most valuable lesson in business:

Do what you love!

The Venn Effect holds the promise to be a game-changer in entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs can be born or made, as long as they learn, understand and employ these lessons learned from a life-long entrepreneur.

The Venn Effect premise is simple: first, do what you love then do what you know. Lacking either, failure is guaranteed. These are just two of the business lessons that Bill discusses in his popular keynote entitled the Venn Effect. Now, he is taking the keynote to book form, diving deeper into his world as an entrepreneur with not only lessons but tips on how to get ahead, be noticed and succeed – even if faced with a life-changing disease.

The Venn Effect is a fast-paced, easy read. You will want to turn the page to see what’s next. Just like with his speeches, Bill grabs his audience and is able to move them along through real-life experiences that can be both funny and thought-provoking.

Entrepreneurs will ask: why can’t I do this? – and be able to employ at least one of the tips found in this book to further their enterprise.

Business Students will learn the right and wrong way to create and move a company forward.

The general public will say: I can do this, even with a disability or challenge.

The Venn Effect can be experienced by anyone who has a desire to succeed.

Let the Venn be part of your life!

Book Cover: A Teenager’s Guide to Living: Navigating the Challenges of Adolescence
Editions:Paperback: $ 24.95

Public high schools do a poor job of preparing teenagers for the realities of life. I know, I teach in one. It is not the fault of the high schools. They are forced to focus on state test scores, graduation rates and an outdated curriculum. Research tells us that employers don’t care about state test scores. They want people who are reliable, work hard, get along well with others and are trainable. Students bound for college are ill-prepared for the stresses and challenges of life away from their families.

“A Teenager’s Guide to Living: Navigating the Challenges of Adolescence” is designed to teach kids about the subjects that high school doesn’t typically cover. Topics for chapters evolved out of interviews with teenagers. They include love, compassion, integrity, character, finding your passion, conflict resolution, money, grief, tolerance and acceptance, technology, stepping outside your comfort zone, taking responsibility for your life and much more. The book is written in a conversational tone with many anecdotes and lots of humor. Each chapter contains reflection questions.

I’ve worked as a high school and college teacher for the past 30 years. I’ve spent a great deal of time mentoring and counseling teenagers. Often I’ve been a surrogate parent for students. I was fortunate to teach a philosophy class at our school based on this book. Students could ask questions about anything, and we discussed them in a safe, loving environment. At the end of the class I asked the 28 students to review the class, and everyone said the course needs to be a requirement for high school students.

Ryder is learning how to use her teeth for eating, biting food, and talking. She seems to find it challenging with getting excited or upset in class resulting in biting her peers when she is overly-stimulated.

During the witty play of words, Ryder is exploring how to use her words. The catchy wordplay allows educators, parents, and school counselors to focus on the importance of the replacement of positive behaviors for supporting Ryder. She is learning how to work through her conflicts with her classmates.

This hilarious and descriptive setting of the preschool classroom has a turning point in the book with Ryder being able to reflect. Ryder the Biter has been written with the purpose of sharing the importance of social-emotional development and promoting the importance of family discussions in an appropriate tone with the correct terminology.

Size: 8.00 x 10.00 in
Pages: 30

After countless years of enduring the burden of supporting all living organisms, the Earth becomes very sick. Her fever causes wildfires, her chills create countless earthquakes, and her sneezing and cough become hurricanes and tornadoes that ravage the world as we know it. In a final plea to get the rest that she needs, the Earth turns to the people and asks them to go inside and close their doors and give her the gift of time. After much hesitation, they finally agree, and a heavy silence falls as the Earth drifts off to slumber. As time passes the people begin to fear that the Earth will never wake up, and so they decide to go outside and dance. They hope that the drumming will ease her from her slumber, but it does not. They are forced to dance harder and harder until finally, they forget why they are dancing in the first place, lost as they are in their own joy. From experiencing their joy, the Earth begins to heal. As she heals, the people also heal. Together they wake up and create a new world where they learn from one another and find a mutual respect.

Jillian’s hope in writing this story is to encourage the reader to view the current state of the environment through a lens of possibility. It offers a bright and hopeful vantage point that is so imperative to counter the fear that much of the world is currently experiencing. It also provides both children and adults alike an opportunity to recognize their own responsibility in actively making choices that will positively impact the Earth.

About the Author

Jillian's experience as a Life Coach has given her a deep understanding of the power of perception and the profoundly beneficial effects that positive thinking has on the mind, body and spirit. She has taken this knowledge and applied it to her parenting style to help her children see that the world is a beautiful place, full of possibility.

Jillian's love of the English language led her to also pursue freelance writing opportunities on the side. Her work is currently showcased on many business websites in the form of page content and/or blogs. Additionally, Jillian writes her own blog, focused largely on spreading joy, speaking of triumph through adversity and helping her audience to consider seeing life from a more creative and productive vantage point.

"When the Earth Slept" was originally written with the intention of helping Jillian's children (ages 8 and 10) to gain a broader understanding of the current Covid-19 situation. Her hope was to allow them to see the many beautiful shifts that are happening because of it, rather than to focus solely on the fearful components. Through developing a wider perspective, they are able to recognize their own responsibility to take care of the Earth and are asking critical questions that the world needs to answer right now. She remains hopeful that this story will help.
