We have many options to bring your manuscript to market including crowdfunding which requires very little to no author cost. We receive tens of thousands of submissions and author inquiries each year, but we choose to accept only a small percentage of the authors who submit manuscripts to us. We will look at your work and respond within weeks with our observations.

Why shop indie bookstores?

When you shop at an independently owned business, your entire community benefits:

The Economy

  1. Spend $100 at a local-owned business and $52 of that stays in your community.
  2. Spend $50 at a national chain and keep $6.50 in the local community.
  3. Spend $50 online with a remote vendor with no sales tax collected and keep not one penny in your local community.
  4. Local businesses create higher-paying jobs for our neighbors.
  5. More of your taxes are reinvested in your community–where they belong.

The Environment

Buying local means less packaging, less transportation, and a smaller carbon footprint.
Shopping in a local business district means less infrastructure, less maintenance, and more money to beautify your community.

The Community

  1. Local retailers are your friends and neighbors—support them and they’ll support you.
  2. Local businesses donate to charities at more than twice the rate of national chains.
  3. More independents mean more choice, more diversity, and a truly unique community.
  4. Now is the time to stand up and join your fellow individuals in the IndieBound mission supporting local businesses and celebrating independents.

How do I add eBooks from Isabella to my Kindle?

Adding eBook to Kindle

Email

The easiest way to put books on your Kindle is to do it via email.

To get your Kindle’s email address, go to amazon.com/myk using your PC’s web browser. Up top, click the Devices tab. In the list below, find the relevant Kindle device and click the three dots on the left. In the pop-up window, you’ll see an @kindle.com email address. (It’s set to a default address, but you can change it by clicking Edit.)

Back up top, click the Preferences tab and scroll down to Personal Document Settings. Click the down arrow on the right and scroll to “Approved Personal Document E-mail List.” The email attached to your Amazon account should be listed here. If that’s the email address you’ll be using to send e-books to your Kindle, you’re all set. To use a different email, click “Add a new approved e-mail address” and enter the address you want to use.

Remember, your Kindle needs to be attached to a Wi-Fi or 3G network for this to work. It doesn’t have to be your home network, of course; you can go to a coffee

Mobi Format (Kindle)

Good news: The books we sent you are in the Mobi format, they’re already readable by the Kindle. Attach the file to an email, send it to your Kindle’s email address (with any subject, and nothing in the body of the email), and it should appear on your Kindle shortly. You can also drag and drop the file onto your Kindle if you attach the device to your PC with a USB cable.
